family home is by car.

Tom’s guests:

Pick-up at Ruma Hotel lobby at 8.15am

Traditionally, the groom together with his

groomsmen will set off from his family

home to “pick up” the bride from her

family home. When they arrive, they will

have to go through a “gate crash”, which

is a series of tests set by the bridesmaids

that the groom and his groomsmen will

need to pass in order to prove his

sincerity and love. Once the games are

completed and the bridesmaids are

satisfied, the groom will be allowed entry

to the bride’s room. The tea ceremony

will then commence, and the bride and

groom will serve tea to the bride’s

elders and receive blessings for their

union. Once the tea ceremony is

concluded, the bride and groom will

depart the bride’s family home.
